Who is the Pilgrim?

Jean Pellerin, aka Johnny Pilgrim (accurate french to english translation!), was born in Valleyfield, Québec. At the age of sixteen he formed his first band “The Kitchen Blues Workshop” and enjoyed considerable success playing the local circuits. As a singer and harmonica player, he was inspired by the classic Blues style of Muddy Waters, John Hammon Jr. and Paul Butterfield. His stage abilities guided him to a prestigious acting college where he did a short stint before switching his studies towards film making. In the late 70’s he decided to give Los Angeles a try. After two weeks of hitch hiking and months of waiting tables around Tinseltown, he was finally accepted at the Art Center College of Design. Immediately upon graduating in 1984 he directed his first professional music video and was recruited by Wayne Isham with who he worked with for nearly 15 years. He was responsible for the success of many “Big Hair Bands” until the genre was dethroned by the Grunge movement. He moved on to feature films and directed 5 movies before moving back to Canada where life would be more suitable for his growing daughter. While still trying to get financing for his own feature projects, he was keen to take odd jobs (landscaping, construction, wood recycling, etc) to make ends meet. He also worked for Cirque du Soleil prior to his latest voyage and is currently seeking distribution for his latest venture, Pilgrim’s Travel.

He’s also known for being responsible for all the music videos of the 80’s rock bands; the ones your parents did not want you to look at you can download his videography by clicking on the link here or there above or click here to see some of them.

* Currently he’s filming with his dear friend Wayne Isham the concerts of Kiss and Metallica.
